copmom- if win2k does I've never found it.
LeKanaw,
Do you have the other one "Magic Lens Max" also from GOTD?
I like it better than today's offer.
yes, and I think that's the one I use most on the athlon, but not on this laptop.
If you find a solution, can you post it here?
if I can without getting gigged for violating rule 7. Using fractional registry surgery might do the trick, but posting the details would be a no-no.
btw, from what I could see, activating and installing 1.7 gaotd without removing 1.5 gaotd should work.
Messenger,
When ever I uninstall any program and delete any left over files, I follow that with running my CCleaner first in the Cleaner mode then go to the Issues tab and scan for any issues and let it fix them. And because you installed the newer version I’d uninstall that too and do the same thing with the CCleaner.
didn't know about the 'issues' thing in ccleaner, will have a look. thanks.
aRenegade,
Your question of whether you can get the 1.7 running, at this point I’d say doubtful. Getting the 1.5 back, perhaps. If you made a backup of you files by imaging your hard drive using Macrium Reflect (basically a clone), or a Titan backup of your program files (registry and drivers included) you could try to restore 1.5 from there.
there are images, backups, and sneaky. the last is more precise and less drastic. and not postable.
I have some sneaky handy in addition to the first 2, and will try it later. I do try to pay attention. honest.
I posted that here because I thought gaotd didn't do the actual key insertion block inside activate.exe, just provided the wrapper- and when I emailed the developer I thought I was pointing out a flaw in what they put in the wrapper- but the response made it seem like I needed to sound off here if others were to avoid the same problem.
Do not get greedy. Some people will say that they were able to use the same registration key or activation code to update a program they got from GAOTD. Now I’m not going to say that’s not true, but for every person that I’ve heard mention that, 10 have said that it either flat out didn’t work, had rolled them back to limited trial ware, or created some sort of pain in the you know what. Smart betters always go for best odds. I have 51 programs in my software library all gotten from GAOTD. The first thing I did after each installation was to turn off any automatic checking for updates.
yar- take a look here. and I think you'll see I understand quite well, and this was not an upgrade through the program, but installing a new gaotd version on a machine that had an older gaotd version on it.
I uninstall that previous program with a third-party uninstaller, I prefer Revo.
so do I. and that's what I used. I should have ignored the 'uninstall earlier version' message, because following directions bit me in the behind.
ah, well.
Thanks, all!
