What we need the most is a pop-up 20 minute, then 10, then 5 minute reminder that internet / gaming time will expire on a certain time so our kid's get to bed on time. I think every family would benefit from that type of shutting down of electronics before bedtime.

It only works on the PC/laptop it's installed on, so just install it on yours.

You might want to check out the features used by corp. IT to lock down their PCs/laptops. If you disable USB boot [& DVD if it has it] in the BIOS, set a BIOS password, then use Windows settings & the tools Microsoft provides, it would be pretty darn hard for a kid to get around it. The only caveat is you might have to upgrade Windows to the Pro version rather than Home.

drvajra, sure you can install it on the parents computer only but then only accounts on the parents computer will have the potential to have restriction applied to them, also you'd have to ensure the account the restrictions are applied to are non-administrator type accounts or else they can take back control trivially. Most teens would not tolerate being given a limited user account and would find a way to revert to Administrator account types at earliest opportunity.

drvajra, if your children can do that, that is time to release them to do any thing. This app runs hidden and be protected by password and not easy to remove. If they can pass this app, that mean they are enough knowledge and mental to use computer.
