From a high level of expectation, this program left me in despair. I feel like I wasted my time. Here are some things I found:

The icons are not labeled so it is not clear what their purpose is. There is a gear icon at the top right and two gear symbols along the left side vertical menu, plus a smaller one inside an eye symbol, however, those two gear icons are not the same exact icon, and neither is the one in the eye symbol. Even after learning the purpose of each icon, later on, users could easily mistake one for the other. I would rather see a clean interface with each icon different. and with a title or hover tip for each icon.

On the Browser selection panel, it isn't clear if the user must download a browser that they already have or not. It doesn't make sense to download a browser that the user already has installed. The only option on the panel is to select one of the Browser's buttons with the button for installation not in sync with the language chosen when the program was installed (installation vs. installieren). The t-online Browser 7 actually goes to a German language page, which can be a problem for users who use a different language but do not have a translation tool installed to translate the text to their language. A popup appears on that page that is not translated even though the text underneath is. What happens if the user does not have any browser?

After going through the (Required?) Settings Assistant
The program gets into a page that it cannot get out of. There is no "back" option or a way to activate another option/icon. Once in this state, the program remains this way until closed from the System Tray.

In order to report a problem, the user is taken to the developer's website where they select whether the issue is for a payment or with an Abelssoft product, then the OS, which version, then the actual product, however, this program isn't listed.

Looks like this is a program not fully tested before release and the website is lacking in being able to provide support for users.

What does this software do that clearing all the settings and privacy data from your browser upon exit doesn't do? Does it insert itself into the network staff and filter Internet packets or does it only interact with browsers and the data they store?

I installed the program; but, I did not find any form to complete or other activation options.

In the read me, there was a suggestion to enter my email to register, but there was no place to do that.

Any help would be good.

The program looks like no other and I am happy to use it.

I would rally like something like this for my Android as Android let's google have the run of my phone and my AVAST on my Android does not stop google from doing whatever it want to do even though Opera and Opera mini have been my browsers for over 20 years..

Morgan,
the last paragraph in readme states:
For the users who have already registered for any other Abelssoft tool, the process runs automatically in the background. In this case the user can start right away.

>Run the program, fill in the form with your name and email.

'Form' did not show up.
Can't find any other links to register software, or registration status.

Please advise, Thanks

Sadly it will not work with the Brave Browser :( - I am stuck on it telling me to download a browser from its list, and Brave is not in the list..

NZ_Wanderer, It's not necessary with Brave as it already blocks trackers by default (and is the way to go, rather than using a tracker filled browser, then using this software as a sticking plaster over the top)

NZ_Wanderer, Like I said Vivaldi and Brave have ad and tracking built into them. This only works for Browsers that don't. Edge, Chrome, Opera, Firefox, etc.

I immediately observed that the software prevents Outlook URLs from opening in the browser. I have to manually copy the URL, remove any tracking features, and then paste the modified URL into my browser.

It would be fortunate if the software could perform these tasks automatically.

Thom, readme file, reading with understanding: "For the users who have already registered for any other Abelssoft tool, the process runs automatically in the background.
In this case the user can start right away."

Does the facility stop webpages code from determining the connection id of the device.
that avoiding the benefits of using Guest mode, or user-id obscuring of the systems identity ?
Does the facility provide details of cookies and their association with the installing webpages/sites, and allow their installation prevention, as well as adequate identification to tell if they are installed as "essential", or regardless of selecting Reject All ?

"Does the facility stop webpages code from determining the connection id of the device."

If you mean the IP address, the only way to hide that is by using a proxy or VPN. Every connection to the internet, e.g., a home or biz, is assigned an IP address -- that's how a web page knows where to send the content your browser requested when you enter a URL -- and then a router assigns an in-house IP address to every connected device. A proxy server acts as a middleman, so all any site ever sees is the proxy server's IP address -- the TOR browser is an extreme example, with all of your traffic routed through multiple proxies. A VPN OTOH acts as a proxy, but establishes a secure, encrypted connection between you and the VPN server, so your traffic cannot be intercepted.

Every device also has an individual ID called a MAC address that's also visible to web sites etc. -- the IP address may narrow it down to your home, but the MAC address points to the specific device used. There are ways / tools to spoof the MAC address.

"Does the facility provide details of cookies..."

I *believe* it's more focused on tracking prevention, which goes beyond cookies, similar to using the DuckDuckGo browser, with the advantage that you can use a full featured browser to get similar protections, since the DuckDuckGo browser is new and somewhat feature limited.

mike,
Thanks for the clarification of IP & MAC,

From your response it would seem that this facility does not deal with the tracking of browsing peoples device, and location.
A VPN, and possibly use of the TOR browser still being needed.

Also it would appear that it does little to help with cookie management -
dealing with sites where many cookies being considered "Essential" by the web site designers, and managers, I will continue using "--Guest" mode for general browsing, and a sandbox system for visiting sites linked to for "Shopping" and general searching, and installation of facilities where I do not have reasonable certainty of the safety of those facilities, sites, and webpages/links.

I sometimes, I use Edge, so I'm going to download Abelssoft AntiBrowserSpy. It wouldn't be so bad if, websites would just ask if they could track me. I may agree to let them, but no, they have to be sneaky about it. Agreeing to a website cookies can also set a tracker. No to that too!

This would be useful if you use any Browser other than Vivaldi or Brave. Vivaldi built ad and tracker blocking into their Browser a couple of years ago. Not sure when Brave did it. Vivaldi also gives you names and the number of ads and trackers. Thanks to GOTD and Abelssoft for the offer.
