Heh. still have the win 3 version, the OS/2 2.0 version, and the win95 one... thanks for a new one- the wife ought to get a kick out of it after not seeing it for so long-- at least now the computers can spare the cycles with ease....

I too have the old versions of felix. I prefer them because all they did was take up cycles (newer versions started calling home). Don't know which version this is in relation to when they started making changes, but when they started making THOSE changes, I stopped keeping myself updated.

I tried clicking on the download button and nothing happens, any clues?

This reminds me of 2 programs I have on CD's from years ago, perhaps Win95? One is called Catz and the other is called Dogz. Both are cute.

Alianthia, Thanks !
I've got a cute cat purring and running around my desktop now.
And chasing butterflies.

There's an option to disable updates.I noticed no calling home after that.

Thank you, Alianthia, it's a very cute screensaver. An important note - I had to run the screensaver using Admin mode - otherwise, I was getting a runtime error message.
I mention this in case others may have similar problems. I have a Vista x32 bit OS.

Thank you,Robert, that worked.

I know it is a bit different than this, but a few years back I was really wondering what ever happened to 'After Dark'. IT was a series of screen savers (some turned into games) that were very funny. I finally tracked down a set of CD's for them and was eager to get them on to see them again. Unfortunately, after I failed to get them going I found that a lot of others have tried too and have not been able to get them to work even with compatibility modes and/or DosBox. Anyone that remembers the the cow screen saver or the flying toaster .. that was them.

Alianthia, Thank you also for sharing this cute little guy.
Posted 14 years ago # -
ibwebb, you've brought back beautiful, wonderful memories of yesteryear - yes, indeed, I used to always have the After Dark screensavers on my computers...loved them a lot.

It looks like what you download is the same as what you run. It appears that the only "install" is to copy it to Program Files and then create 2 shortcuts. I had to run it in admin mode on my vista32 machine to get it to install. It's cute.
If I fed my cat as often ast this guy does, I would REALLY have a fat cat!

Hi Inas!
You're welcome!
I have hime running around when I have my browser open, even!
You can have him to be, "always on top"....he is USUALLY snoozing away in his little bed in the corner though..lol!

Printer2, glad you got it to work..you are welcome!

@Inas: I found a few versions on EBay when I started thinking of this. I quickly put a bid in on them hoping to get one....I won both LOL. Then it occurred to me that I never checked to see if it would work on newer systems. Somehow in my mind I just though it was a screen saver so why wouldn't it work. Oh, well I am sure someone somewhere will come up with something and I will hopefully find it! Lol BTW I always love the 'Bad Dog' one. When the screen saver kicked in it was a copy of your screen. A dog would chew up your folders, use the bathroom on them, and mess up your screen.. OH and bark at you. Then when you moved the mouse it would be fine. People that didn't know about it at the time would jump to the conclusion that their screen was really going to be messed up.

Hee, hee! My games are meowing at me! (Yes, I found where to turn the sound off, just don't wanna yet.)
Robert, do tell: how do you get him to purr? MY Felix only meows :-)
Posted 14 years ago # -
Well..you see, first you have to spoil him little ,let him chase lots of butterflies, make him play with tiny toy cars, let him chase your mouse pointer and feed him lots of Felix ...in short make him feel at home...
Um..and if that doesn't help ,choose 'StrokeMyFelix',read the instructions, press OK and caress his back or his white belly.

Unfortunately I am not able to play this after installation. Once installed I get
When I shut down I am told to install flash 6 or later.
I have visited the macromedia site (now Adobe) and installed the flashplayer from there. That doesnt help. I never had a problem playing flash in my browser. Any help will be great

Hi copmom, my daughter still plays Catz, and Dogz, they are now into their 5th incarnation and are still available from good games stores. We also have Babyz but that only plays on Win 98 and earlier.
Check earlier versions of these game by clicking on them Catz, Dogz and Horsz

prs
MyFelix should run just fine on XP,Vista or seven.
Then again I stumbled upon this message from the MyFelixDev Team (dated 06/24/2010)
We are aware that some users have recently experienced some technical issues with My FELIX. We are looking into these as a matter of urgency and will be sure to let you know as soon as the problem has been rectified.
I'm sure they're looking into the matter right now and will be fixing this asap.
:)
So,in the meanwhile, stay tuned...Posted 14 years ago # -
Yeah I have the same problem as prs. Even starting it in compatibility mode and as an administrator does nothing. Hopefully they fix it soon!
Posted 14 years ago # -
OK.. you've all talked me into downloading it.. finally got it to save... now to see if it works for me, XP SP2
Posted 14 years ago # -
Well..at least over here..it runs smoothly on XPPro SP3-Vista Home SP1 an 7Home.LOL.
Didn't try it on XPHome, yet. And 7Pro is a bit too expensive for me right now,so I am not running out to the shops to buy it...Posted 14 years ago # -
Works for me.. only thing is it stops my power saver.. have that set to shut down monitor after a certain number of minutes.
