   I was checking up on my good friend David Galindo, Vertigo Games founder, and saw that he was requesting for fans of his games to donate a little money to him to fund his newest game Liquisity 2. He needed $800 to pay his artist and music people that he hired to liven the sequel up. He has reached the goal already and currently sits at $830. However, he is continuing to take donations through the end of the month and I am intending on donating $50 to help him out. Donations can be in any amount, but he does offer thank you prizes for certain amounts donated. Gifts are as follows:

   PLEDGE $8 OR MORE
   Get a copy of Liquisity 2 for free when it's released in 2010, essentially better than a preorder as the final game will retail for more than $8! Plus get a sneak peek at the development of the game, which will be updated exclusively for backers of this Kickstarter project.

   PLEDGE $20 OR MORE
   Along with a copy of Liquisity 2, get copies of Spirits of Metropolis and ShellBlast, which are other commercial projects I have completed. Given that Spirits and ShellBlast retail for $15 total, this is a pretty nifty deal!

   PLEDGE $30 OR MORE
   Along with the three games mentioned in the $20 reward, receive copies of The Oil Blue and The Sandbox of God: Remastered when they come out in 2010. You will also receive a Special Thanks credit in Liquisity 2!

   PLEDGE $50 OR MORE
   Along with the $30 rewards, you will receive a physical copy of the game upon release on a mini-CD inside a fully functional Betta Aquarium. Also inside the aquarium are two glossy artwork cards with vouchers on the back of them to download Liquisity 2 for free (makes for great gifts), a small starter's manual, and a few bonus extras inside!

   PLEDGE $150 OR MORE
   Get the $50 rewards, plus a physical copy on vinyl CD inside a soft Viewpak sleeve w/original cover art of the following games: The Winter Solstice, Kablooey!, greenTech, Spirits of Metropolis, ShellBlast, The Sandbox of God: Remastered, Liquisity 2, and a "classic" compilation CD of all the other games I've released. Each vinyl CD will have custom cover art as well as a custom Viewpak case for each, giving off a pseudo-retro feel. You will also receive a postcard w/artwork for each for the following games: Sandbox of God: Remastered, ShellBlast, Spirits of Metropolis and the Oil Blue, with vouchers on each card to download the game for free!

   By the way, I'm so excited because Sandbox of God Remasted is now available =D The only way to get it right now though is to purchase either Spirits of Metropolis or Shellblast (or through this donation =D). Sandbox comes free with any purchase from Vertigo Store. If you've not got either of these games (they were both given away by GOTD) I encourage you to check them out. If you do still have them, I encourage everyone to check out my link at the bottom of this post. Everything being said, it's no secret that Vertigo Games is one of my favorite indie developers and I am more than happy to help David out with his coming endeavors.

   I tried to donate some money, but I don't use any of the cards that are required to donate via Amazon. I only use PayPal to buy things online and amazon wont accept PayPal. Shame as I think the latest project looks really cool.

   Wizz, Please tell David that there people who would love to help but are unable to for the above reason. Thanks.

   It is really cool, once you've signed up to back him, you see special "backers only" messages. One of the messages was a download of the original Liquisity 2 game that he scrapped for better lighting and atmosphere. It's looking like a great new game =)

   Just watching the video makes me want to buy it. I'll just have to wait till it's released then purchase it for full price. I've never had any qualms about paying full price for most games as I still think they are bargains even at the full price. :)

   Did you check out his other game he is working on called The Oil Blue? I'm intrigued and was upset that there was no gameplay footage just a screenshot =( Oh well, I'm sure it'll be good. I've sent the e-mail. He's rather quick at responding, but I'm off to bed for now ladies and gents. I'll update when I've received a response.

   I've got problems with his games and until he changes his build package, I can't play them much. Many Vista users find his games incredibly slow and I have worked with him on the issue. He admits there is a problem and is in the process of changing how his games are done but until he makes the change - I can't see paying for something I might not be able to use.

   You could always donate to him to help him fix his games so they don't have that problem. Just a thought.

   A quick update on the donations:

   I've looked into donating via PayPal through Kickstarter, but the
   Kickstarter team just got back to me and said it's not possible at the
   moment.

   Really, any purchase via my store is pretty much like a nice donation,
   plus you get a game out of the deal. :)

   I'm encouraging David to set up a paypal donation box on his site/blog so maybe a few others could donate that way, and he may get more donations in the future. I know it's a bit redundant for the giveaway community to purchase either of the games because they've both been given away previously. I'll keep everyone updated on paypal possibility.

    Thanks Wiz I appreciate your efforts; as you know I'm all for supporting the indie developers as I beleive if you don't pay for gmes the quality and originality will suffer.

    I spend an aweful lot of money weekly trying to help by buying games regularily, all via PayPal. Over the last year on average I've bought one game every day, and in previous years its been as much as 2 a day. (Sounds rather stupid and a waste of money, but as I've said several times in these forums, new games seem to help attenuate the pain I suffer very effectively, so its worth it. Though I'll have to stop being so wreckless as I've only played about half of those games properly so far. :, plus I want to take the family back to the US this year for another 2 week vacation. (I may be booking one tonight depending upon whether my wife has persuaded her boss to let her have an extra week off from her work this May - fingers crossed)
