When I click on the "Buy now" as instructed I get a web page wanting all my contact and financial info. Since that's not going to happen, I'm wondering how everyone else is activating theirs. I can't believe they are filling in all the blanks.

Peg, I activated my copy by using the GetFullVersion.exe located in the unzipped folder. That way, all it asked for was the registration code. I'm not sure if you can still use the other exe to play it, but everytime I open with the getfullversion.exe file, it takes me to the game.

I activated with the buy now button. I did not add any of my info, just the activation key & it worked fine.

I just opened the game to make sure it worked since I had to create a shortcut, then exited it and there was a place to enter the code.
I also saved the read-me in case I need to re-download, not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try!Posted 15 years ago # -
Okay, I was able to download and install it on my laptop, but on my desktop, I get an error message when I click on GetFullVersion.exe. I'm thinking it might be because my desktop is a 64 bit??
It doesn't really matter because I am more likely to play games on my laptop anyway. Thanks for the responses.

nope not because of 64-bit....that's what I have. what kind of error?

Hi everybody, I have the same problem as Peg: when I click on the "Buy now" as instructed I get the web page wanting contacts and financial info; when I install it on my desktop, I get an error message when I click on GetFullVersion.exe. I also tried Suki's method, but I never found a place to enter the code.
Can anybody give a sugestion or advice or instruction? I really would like to play this game.
Thanks in advance. PafPosted 15 years ago # -
I don't remember a "buy now" button.
When the game is installed you find two .exe files:
GetFullVersion.exe and GregoryPhoenix.exe.
I clicked the GetFullVersion.exe, a small window opened with the form for the key, copy and paste - then the game started.
If nothing helps, delete with Revo and start over again. The installation is part of the puzzle :)

The error I get when I click on GetFullVersion.exe is as follows:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
It is my personal computer and the only account on it, so don't know what permissions I might need.

Peg, I get exactly the same error on my desktop. Didn“t installed it on my laptop yet, but I'm going to try.
Graylox, with the file you get from GAOTD, there is no need to use revo, because it doesn't install the files on disk. If you use one of the demo files (from softpedia, or other site) then it will be installed. But I've tried both ways, uninstalled it with revo, and nothing changes: I can not activate this game on my desktop.

hi, paf...
in my case, after i installed & first started the game, i couldn't even click "Buy now" until i entered my name...
the game then tried to open IE, which i blocked...
the game then launched the "getfullversion.exe" on its own...
at that point, one of the options in the smaller box that opened was to enter the key...entered, clicked activate, & when i opened the game again, the "Buy now" button was gone...
as graylox said...part of the puzzle!...
with my luck, it will be one of those "key didn't stick" moments down the road...lol...
---edit---
went and opened the program file...clicking on either .exe now opens/runs the game fine with no "Buy now" button or smaller activation box...Posted 15 years ago # -
Paf, you are right, with the uninstall, I'm just used to throw everything unwanted on revo.
Peg & Paf: When you are running Vista, run the game with the right-click-admin.Sometimes an earlier install of a demo version can screw up the full install. Then you should delete everything of the demo, even your hard-won scores; that's a job for revo. You could of course back up your scores (don't know where they are).
Good Luck!Back to the game now - I'm stuck... :(

I'm having a problem that seems completely unrelated. I never even had a page with the 'buy now' button. I was taken to Game giveaway page that said "you've been activated" after opening set up and choosing the name to put in the file. There was no choice between two .exe's.
Vegas, the name of the last game I downloaded from GGOTD was still on the installer and I changed it to Gregory_Phoenix. And now, I cannot find the game file anywhere...even on Revo after a restart. I tried to download again and it said the file already exists, do you want to replace, etc.
I know it will be to late the activate the game if that was missed; but I'd like to find the game file, lol. Halp?
I'm using Vista SP2. Everything was clean and defragged, etc.

Peg and Graylox, thanks for your replies. Yesterday night I gave up to install the game on my desktop. I did installed it on my laptop (vista, 32) and everything was fine: I got the window where to place the code, and then the "buy" button was gone. But I would prefer to know why it was not possible to install on the desktop (xp, 32, etc.), although it meets all the requirements...
Once again, thank you very much for your help and your efforts.
