Just recently My Avast 8 started reported viruses in my Jenkat games. The virus or Trojan was called Win32:Evo-gen[Susp]. Has anyone else have this come up with Avast on Jenkat games? I removed the games that was infected. My question is should I switch to another anti-virus or is Avast safe to use with Jenkat games?

First, I would use their contact us point and check with Jenkat on the issue. I do not use Avast (I use Microsoft Security Essentials) and have never had a problem with Jenkat Games. I currently have 77 games installed from there.
There is an issue with Malwarebytes and their download stubs. It always report such executables as PUPs -- even when they are in the recycle bin. I learned to be sure all Jenkat stubs have been permanently deleted before I run MalwareBytes.
Jenkat also has a strange install setup. It puts the main part of the game in Program Flies\Common Files\<gamename> with a stub pointer executable placed in Program Files\<gamename> (if using 64 bit operating systems, add "(x86)" to the Program Files folder name). That double-setup may be the cause of your problem. It also makes a royal mess of the Program Files folder. If they would AT LEAST make a "Jenkat" folder and put all the games under there, it would be better!
I merge the two <gamename> folders and then move the merger outside of that area to my own personal area and then modify the uninstall registry entry to match.

I have been downloading and playing games from Jenkat for quite a long time, but this installer that they are now using did flag up early on (I use AVG Free Version) - it installed perfectly OK, but then tried to take me to the installer's website and AVG objected at that stage. I've used it since without any problem, so this may have been either a false positive that's now been corrected or possibly they've changed the installer a bit.
I agree with Dragonlair - it certainly does install into some funny places. I find that sometimes I have to merge the files from Program Files into the ones in Common Files and sometimes it's the other way round! I've got my own Jenkat folder on a separate partition that I keep for games etc and it's always a game in itself to get everything properly together there. However, I think it's worth it as they have some excellent HOGs etc.

Littlemaggit, If you don't go into the registry to fix the uninstall pointers after you move the game, you may find yourself with registry errors. If you have Revo Pro, its not a big deal since you can always do a "forced uninstall" but I don't like the errors. Jenkat rarely plays with the registry, other than the uninstall, so the errors are basically harmless.

I can't t the downloader to pop up. When I click on download in Jenkat games, nothing happens. I got it to download the installer by entering in the gameid path into my browser, but when I double click to start it & allow it to make changes to my hard drive, nothing happens! I have Windows 8 & Windows defender. Anyone know why this is or have a solution?

It may be something in your browser. I suggest trying it with another browser.
