Credit goes to "Free Stuff Times" for the heads up on this free game. Here is a link to their post. I know you have to be a member of BigFish to be able to get this game but that it is FREE. Here is the link:

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm a member of Big Fish ONLY for the freebies. I've got 12 now and haven't paid one red cent!
Remember that making your own shortcut from the (hidden) actual executable will take their game manager out of the picture. I keep it around just for downloads.

Thank you

Not only do I appreciate the free game but I love this site. Thanks so much for telling us about it.

Glad I could contribute ... lol. I love this forum & appreciate all of you who are so diligent to keep the rest of us game-a-holics supplied with good free games! :-)

I just get a black screen with stars falling. I thought maybe it was a loading screen but I waited a long time and it never changed. What happens when you open the game?
Posted 15 years ago # -
That black screen with the stars is the beginning of the load. You should see several company name/logos over the stars and the the start of the intro story. Maybe you just need to try again. If it still doesn't work, contact Big Fish. They would know more of how to get past that.

Thanks for the info jenany.
Terri, when that happens to me usually I just need to restart the game after using
task Manager to kill it. If you've already tried that perhaps downloading and installing the game again might help.Posted 15 years ago # -
How long did it take yours to load?
Posted 15 years ago # -
This game took maybe a minute. Most likely far less. It's a LOT faster than today's game! That takes 3 or 4 minutes to load!
Posted 15 years ago # -
I just sent a message to BFG Customer Support so I'll see what happens. At least it didn't cost me anything.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Thanks, jenany! It works fine for me... a really cute little game. :)
Posted 15 years ago # -
I finally got around to doing more than the tutorial and setting the options. It is a cute maze/like puzzle game. It actually took maybe 15 seconds to load to the story-line part.
I hope they can help you figure out what's wrong, Terri. It would be a shame to miss out.

Just wanted to add that I had no trouble getting the game to run either. I am on WinXP Home, if that makes any difference. Very colorful game - music gets old pretty quickly but that's why there's a volume control. :-)
Posted 15 years ago # -
Jenany,
The volume control ONLY works in puzzle mode. In the other modes, the music plays even if you have the volume turned OFF. I'm going to email them about that and ask how to get that option to work globally.

I love Big Fish giveaways...Downloaded and runs fine on my Vista 64 bit. Thanks for the heads up!
Posted 15 years ago # -
@Dragonlair: Really? I haven't played the game long enough to notice that but I agree that issue should be addressed. :-\
Posted 15 years ago # -
Jenany,
I'm still waiting for a reply to my email. The auto-confirmation I got said within 48 hours. If I don't hear by tomorrow morning (my time), I'll send a 2nd one. I've checked other modes and the volume ONLY works in the one mode. I played "Infinite" for about a half hour (about 25 levels) and that was as much as I could take. Also, Avira was due for it's daily update and I didn't want to fight the resource drain of that.

Thank you for the link to the free game. From reading these posts, I'd gather that Big Fish regularly gives away games? Is there a certain regular spot that give aways are posted? Thanks.
Posted 15 years ago # -
I'm also waiting to hear back from Customer Service.
Niagara, it's not Big Fish (although they do once in a while like this one) that gives away the game, it's Gamehouse. They give a different free game every day. They are ad sponsored so the game is interrupted by ads but if you don't mind that, it's a great deal.
Posted 15 years ago # -
Thanks Terri218. When Big Fish does occasionally give away a game where is it posted? Thanks!

Just keep checking here. This forum has been my best source of free game and great offers information. The people here are very sharing.

BFG has a new deal through August where you can get the game of the day (usually older ones) for $2.99 if you install their toolbar (look under "What's New"). Today is a Hidden Expedition (I think Everest) one and if you don't already have it and like Hidden Objects games, it is a good deal.

Thanks again!

Guys....to turn off music in the other modes you have to start that mode then click on the menu icon (looks sort of like an open book in the bottom right) then you can turn down/off the music for that mode.
I wouldn't take the toolbar from BF or anyone, even if they offered free games, they're nothing but trouble. Of course it's up to you but don't say you weren't warned :)
Terri....when you see the black screen w/falling stars you should see the word "Loading" in the bottom right corner, after about 10-15 seconds it changes to "Click to skip" click it to skip the rest of the intro and go to the menu screen. (At least that's what happens for me running Vista 32 bit)
Thanks for this heads up jenany, this game is really cool.

BK,
You're right but there's a twist. You are right that each mode has it's own volume setting. The odd part is when you're in a mode that has the sound and you've previously turned it off, it shows as minimum. You have to turn it UP and then DOWN to get it to take.
That's really strange.
Thanks! I think I have all the music off. Once I started turning it off, it was ON in the game selection mode. I think I have THAT off as well, now.
BTW - if you want to see creative use of loading time - move your mouse left and right while the stars are falling. It's cute!
As far as the toolbar, I have it but it's disabled. If I need it, I'll enable it just long enough to do what I need and then disable it. Just like the Big Fish Game manager. I keep it just to download but don't use it at all. I always "fix" my shortcuts to avoid it.

Diane....Yeh, I forgot to mention that part.....sowwy! :)
BKPosted 15 years ago # -
BK,
I noticed something else. They don't remember the settings (except for Puzzle Mode) from execution to execution of the game. You have to reset the volume every time you play!
I finally heard from Big Fish. First they said to re-download. I did not. I know I'm not the only one with the problem and it's too specific to be a corrupted download.
It's obviously a programming error. The other modes are not recognizing the global option settings and only recognize the local settings for that one session. It should be an easy fix/re-compile!
I ran their "Dr. Felix" program and sent them the results. Now I'm back to waiting on them. I gave them the above explanation (in more detail). Let's see if they believe me!

Thanks for your dilligence (or a better word would be tenacity) in trying to sort these problems out Dragonlair.
Much respect from
Whiterabbit.

This is the answer I got from BFG:
"This might be related to your current drivers and graphics card configurations in your computer. By updating Microsoft's Direct X, and your video card drivers you'll be up to date and able to play all the games on our site. Primarily, you should update Direct X and your video card drivers. Direct X is a Microsoft application used to run all our games. Additionally, all graphical processes on your computer are controlled by your video card."
Does anybody see any problems with doing that?
Thanks, as always.
