Hello all, I am looking for some websites that can automatically download the youtube flv files to my usb. I search for them on google but they are not updated and do not work. This is because I usually can watch only in the library that has broadband connection but has put restrictions on all .exe files. So if you have any website that can download flv files directly onto my usb, please tell me. However, today's free software looks good.
Online youtube downloader website please...

I think Giveawayfan means that you can't run .exe in the library w/out permissions.
No ideas myself, sorry.

Hello,
Today the software from Giveaway does not work, the Youtube Downloader has problem, I can not download anything? What is the purpose of this software?Posted 15 years ago # -
Hi Giveaway fan,
Get on good terms with your librarian, then ask them to allow you to download the files. explain that the site you want to download from has a good reputation and is tagged as Green by both the Web of Trust (WOT) and McAfees Site Advisor. Maybe then, they will change the security settings temporarily to allow you to download the files, or maybe get a friend to download them for you. :)
To Joesmith,
It worked for me. The purpose is so that you caneasily download your favorite You tube videos - if you're into music for example there are thousands of music videos worth downloading. As for the converter, that enables you to play the video onseveral different formats. for example you may want to play them on your ipod or phone.

Installed today's Giveaway of the day multiple times but I still get - Application failed to initialize when I try to launch the downloader. I did a search on the error and associated code and got back a few results that said it has something to do with a .Net fix which I also downloaded but without success. Any suggestions on how to get this working would be great. Thanks.

Giveaway, there's more than one online. You can find more than one if you Google. Right now the one I'm using is deturl.com, which works this way: you add the letters pwn to the address line. In other words, I search youtube and find this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbyzTI0M8eo&feature=channel.
It's an old Groucho Marx clip from Animal Crackers. The famous African monologue of Captain Spaulding ("I shot an elephant in my pajamas...."). I put my cursor in the address line between www. and youtube and type pwn. That takes me to the deturl site and allows me to download the .flv of that particular clip. It will also allow me to download an mp4 if the person who posted the .flv has also uploaded an mp4. If you go to deturl.com's frontpage, you'll see this same explanation. The only reason I'm using it right now, though, is that I haven't got around to reinstalling my partially damaged Realplayer. I've been using their download online clips option. But, I've got other broken stuff and so RealPlayer is on the back burner. Anyway, pwn only works on youtube. I've used others a long time ago, but can't remember which.
It depends if your library only blocks downloaded executables or all downloads. If they block all downloads, a lot do, you're out of luck. Unless you can talk you're Librarian into it, as Whiterabbit suggests.

2 websites mentioned in today's comment section:
http://keepvid.com/
http://www.tomp4.com/flvdownloader.phpTried on 2 other sites. Keepvid works on Dailymotion - though not Clipser - and gives you the option to download whatever formats have been uploaded. But the other doesn't seem to work even on youtube. Getting 403 "forbidden" errors.

You're welcome giveawayfan.
Sorry, Joe, and you other folks. I wasn't answering your question. I don't blame you for looking for answers, but that wasn't what this thread was about. Giveawayfan couldn't use yesterday's software, since he was using other people's computers, and was looking for online alternatives. I was focused on answering his question, and, after I did, I had forgot about yours. Sorry about that, but I couldn't have initially answered Joe's, anyway. I really don't know how to answer "downloader doesn't work".
What happens? Nothing downloads? You get an error screen, an error message? Sorry, but we would have needed more details. Dunnmaster and brhodes realized that this wasn't the thread and dunnmaster started one, although in dunnmaster's case, we would have probably needed to see the error and know about what fix he tried. In brhodes case, it was apparently bad coding by the developer - many people had the problem and nobody was able to solve it.That's probably the biggest reason things don't get answered on this forum. Like a doctor, we need to know the specific symptoms. Hope we can help you next time, Joe.
