   I downloaded this on the 04/05/09 I think It was,Installed and activated no problem,first used It and It updated with about 18mb of updates,no problem still said it was active on the registration,It might have updated once more after that,again no problem,last night 07/05/09 it updated with a massive 30mb file since then it still says it is active on the registration with all the shields still working but when you try to check for updates it says error downloading file please try later I dont even think it trys to download anything as there is no activity on my network monitor and also when you now do a scan be it a quick scan or deep scan it takes only 1 minute it used to take 27 mins and last of all if you do a custom scan it only runs for 1 minute then gets stuck on what ever file it has got to.Can anyone shed any light on what has happened or is that the end of the full use of this software and should i just uninstall it,hope not as i liked it.Hope to hear from someone soon.Thanks

   judydog, i'm having exact same problem. started after that 30mb update listed as Database Version 180 on May 06, 2009. can anyone help or are the forum boards even monitored by GOAD? i know the original offering of software page is, by both goad & sometimes software providers, but not sure about these forums. afraid to re-install because the sofware may not re-register. please advise. tom

   judy, I never heard of it, it looks unproven. if i don't find LOTS of positive responses and very few negatives, i won't put it on my computer. i've used Superantispyware along with Spyware blaster & AVG 7.5 & have never had a problem, but Superantispyware free doesn't have REALTIME protection and now that AVG 7.5 is no longer updating i'm looking............. tom

   I had never heard of it,Ive seen it on softpedia to download but never really looked as it is a 120mb download but well worth it,you may not have heard of the program but you will have heard of all the scanners in it.It basically just groups all the best anti spyware and antivirus stuff in one package dont know no why ones ever done it before,anyway its just downloaded about 10 mins ago so i am gonna install it now i will report back in about a hour to tell you whats its like have a look at there website it explains everything better than i have.http://www.cobrasecurity.ucoz.com/

   Well,still early days but promising,previxcsi the virus scanner part of it uses the cloud database so never tried this before but seems good.Installed no problem and if there are some programs you dont want to use then you just dont install them.

   System protector behavior gets stranger just thought i would give it 1 last chance and done a quick scan and it scanned the whole computer without getting stuck in 10 mins but if i do a deep scan its over in about a min and if i do a custom scan it get stuck after 57 secs and the update thing,it looks like it checks for updates when you first start up the computer but unlike yesterday when you could check for updates when ever you wanted now you just get a error,so is there someone here who can shed any light on this or should i just uninstall the program and be done with it

   Same here on two laptops running XP SP3. It acts like it's about to download a new update file, then stops and says "Error downloading file. Please try later."
   It is stuck on Database Version 180//May 06, 2009

   Of greater concern, SysTweaks own website says this version can "Restore QUARANTINED Items" and even "Restore REMOVED Items". I was unsure of some of the items it was picking up, so I have it set to "Never Delete Quarantine" and set a restore point, first, thinking I could restore files/reg.key, should I need them.

   Not only does the program seemingly delete EVERYTHING saved to Quarantine when it does a new scan, but under the "List of Last 20 Logs", everything is gone except the most recent.

   I've had far fewer issues using beta software. I'm blocking all further activity, but am afraid to uninstall it until, hopefully, we get some word from someone at Systweak or GOTD. Help?!

   Very silent on the official front,as it stands the program is next to useless and if they have done this to see if we would buy a version they are sadly mistaken,I know its not gaotd fault but they seem to have a lot of problems with programs reverting back to trials or basic shells of full versions.Seems like they are taking advantage not only of gaotd but potential customers as well.
   Forgot to mention,the reason why everything in your quarintine and logs is missing is because of the update seem for me everything before the update has vanished like yourself i was keeping some stuff in quarintine just in case,now its all gone.

    I agree, judydog. I went back and read some of the posts in the Offering thread. :( I was reminded I also got a blue screen error on May 5th or 6th. I fear lots of people aren't reading the info under the + sign and are disabling legit programs. I think I may try a SysRestore, even though I'll lose two other GOTD apps I want.

    I've had three BSOD's since installing this program (the first in a long time), but as yet I'm not having the other problems mentioned above. I keeping it for now as it's been okay at rooting out adware etc.

    now as for BSOD's set to not reboot it tell you the name of the file that is bad.

    Probably, I've run the program every day and accepted all updates. I can't vouch for one being 30Mb though as I never bother looking at the sizes of such things.

    hey guys, same thing here still. the worst part is this program gave me false positives, which i quarantined so i COULD recover them after researching entries, and now after the version 180 update on 5-6 the quarantine restore files are GONE.........great.....i called systweek and they assured me they would e-mail fix within 48 hours.... i did save a copy of backup file to desktop but ZIP won't open and i can't figure how to re-incorporate it back into prog file..... yes, i know it says 'No support' but heres hoping..... tom

    If you do get a fix could you let us know what it is,have not uninstalled it yet but as it stands not far from doing so.I suppose one way round it would be to download the free version for the scans and keep using this version for the shields protection,if no fix i will try that

    I have have just checked the program folder of this program and there is a new program in there called run schedule.exe.It has the same icon as the other 2 system pro exe.The description of this file says it is by a company called bytecrusher and the name of the actual program is called spydefy.exe and it has got the exact date of when these problems started so it must have been put there when the program got updated as all the other files have the original date.The file is signed by systweak,I had a look at bytecrushers web page and they have nothing to do with systweak so i would love to know what is going on here,I too have sent a email to systweak asking them for information but i did not mention any of this as i have only just found out but i will send another email tomorrow.

    I had the same problem for the whole day. So I restored my OS to the point that just installed and activated the product. Now I can update the database to May 8 and check for update says 'no new update is available'.

    I have decided to just uninstall this program gonna wait a few days first to see if there are any answers to why bytecrushers spydefy ended up on my computer went back to using spyware terminator tried all the other free ones and this one seems to be the best at real time protection.hotdoge I had a look at that link and there right not a product I want really,but would love to know how it ended up on my computer and why systweak have digitly signed the file by bytecrusher.

    judy, I think that 400kb file labled Run Schedule in the c:program file/systweak/ folder ISN'T a program it just starts the scan process.....400kb is way too small to be a program....i'm still waiting for reply to my phone call.... maybe 48 hours doesn't include weekends..... tom

    Hi,Tom yes you are right it does just start the scan process I was just saying how strange it is that it is the only file in that folder with a different date and more importantly by a different company.I too am waiting for a reply as yet nothing.Let you know if i here anything.

    tomgeorge, the real time shield is on so it is the Pro version. I did not re-activated it again because we are not supposed to allow. I always imaged my system so I can restore it to the point that just after the activation point of Pro version and try the update again.

    Hi again everybody.I have just had a very nice email from systweak explaining that due to a bug on of there updates did not work correctly and it was only on the system for a few hours,here is the email i recieved.
    Please accept my apologies for this bug.
    Unfortunately, due a technical mistake one of the builds was not being able to download
    the updates.
    This build was on our servers for few hours, this problem was immediately rectified.
    I would request you to kindly download the latest build from Systweak website.

    Well that has fixed the problem just download the new file and install it no need to uninstall the old version first and when it installs and loads up it updates itself to database version 181 and best of all when you try to update manually no problems.All the shields are still active so it is still the pro version.I will send a thankyou email to systweak as they did not have to fix the issue as the program was downloaded with no support.

    judy, THANKS, i'm glad you got a reply because i'm still waiting. can you tell is this a trial copy, which will expire after 30 days? does it say ACTIVE beside the 'subscription status' on the programs start screen? FRANK, you sound like a smart & thorough guy, i haven't GHOSTED my puter for a long long time, but this is makin' me re-think that policy!! thanks for the replies...... tom

    Yes Tom It says active,I have just recieved another email from some other person at systweak basicaly same email just says that the version that you are about to download is the newest registered version,I am using mine now and everything is working perfectly even the scan times are back to normal and It defo says active next to subscription status.

    Current updated version is 2.0.323.1979 and the program has not been reverted to a trial.
    The program seems to remember his exclusion and ignore list now.
    But it might improve things if its components ran as a service...

    Thank you all for the update, but I'm more concerned about all the false positives it gives and the disappearance of the items about which I was uncertain that I quarantined, Even though I set the app to "NEVER DELETE Quarantined Items" those items all vanished. ... same for the logs.

    So, could someone please post the results after running a new scan? Do you only have the items from that scan or can you reinstate earlier items, should you need them? I know it won't fix the items it lost, but I'm afraid this update isn't going to correct this problem, even going forward...esp., after the reviews in hotdoge3's links.
