ModeratorMicrosoft patched 50 some vulnerabilities, including 3 zero days that were actively being exploited, & managed to fix a vulnerability found by Google's security team just days before Update Tuesday. Regardless the version of Windows you're running, make sure you get or got Tuesday's updates.
The one that Google found was particularly bad... a special file could be sent, e.g. via email, that would trigger Defender or Security Essentials to scan it - when that happened, because of a vulnerability in Microsoft's security software, the malicious file could run code at the highest privilege. And you wouldn't have to do anything to get infected -- no clicking on an email attachment or anything.
