For those who have trouble downloading/installing the game today, it is available at GameTop. You do have the possibility of the browser opening upon termination of the game but that can often be avoided by removing the play shortcut. It doesn't always work. If you get an error message, put it back.

Per the FAQ.
The first things to check:
1. Is Internet Explorer able to connect to the internet. Even if you use another browser to browse the internet, the GOTD activation/setup process will use the Internet Explorer "engine" to connect. Make sure also that Internet Explorer is not set to "work offline".
Even if you use another browser - Internet Explorer must still be functional and NOT set to "Work Offline". The setup will always fail if Work Offline has a tick next to it.
2. Make sure your internet connection isn't configured to use a proxy server. One way to test if a proxy server is detected is to visit http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and check the results that will mention what type of proxy server is in use (if any).
3. Is your firewall blocking activate.exe or setup.exe from connecting to the internet? If you are unsure, try temporarily disabling the firewall before trying again.
4. Reboot and wait 5 minutes and try again (in case the problem is related to busy servers).
If none of those work then tell us when you were last able to install plus which OS and anti-virus you're using and maybe somebody will have more specific recommendations.

Cruel Games: Red Riding Hood
It activates during the install BUT I searched the whole machine and it has not installed. I have been downloading and installing for many years from GiveAway Of The Day.
Last install was Aquascapes on 6th September 2015. My OS is windows 10 and I have not changed anything since the last install. I use the free version of AVG.Posted 9 years ago # -
Try either disabling AVG for the time it takes to install the download or, if that fails, booting in "safe mode with networking" to install the program.
The latest version of AVG seems to have a problem with the wrapper.

Re mu mu. Try to switch off Avast for ten minutes or so while unwrapping.
And prevent Avast to check the folder where you have placed the dezipped giveaway.Posted 9 years ago # -
mu mu, if temporarily disabling Avast doesn't help then you might try giving a bit more information.
It's not clear if you can't download or if you can't install the download. Can you give a better description of the problem? What do you see on the screen? Have you checked Event Viewer for any errors and/or warnings that coincide with the installation attempt?
There have been a couple of other Vista users with problems lately so It might also just be a Vista problem. Today's download looks pretty benign, see if it will work.

Last Update Tuesday booting into Vista on my wife's PC, Windows Update was broken -- took a more extreme Fix-it from Microsoft to get it working. Internet Explorer was/is broken as well -- seems to work just fine until I try to visit any page at microsoft.com, where it refuses to connect, acting as if the connection's down.
[Didn't troubleshoot -- waiting for next 10 ISO, when I'll try to transition this Vista install to 32 bit 10 Insider Preview. Should be interesting, especially if it works.]
Could be that an update broke something, or maybe like XP SP2, a necessary update was not provided? This page at microsoft.com talks about uninstalling & reinstalling Internet Explorer, & includes Vista. support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/318378

I've been having the same problem but I don't use Vista. It seems to be an off and on problem. Some games download and install with no problem but others give me the Failed to Launch message. I was going to try to download Saturday's game again when I got home but my internet was down so I couldn't try.

mu mu: did you try and shut Avast! shields for ten minutes or so, before running Setup.exe as advised earlier?

Try resetting IE to its default installed state (Tools | Internet Options | Advanced then Reset at the bottom of the box) and double-check that IE will actually open a page.
