I can't get this to install. I keep getting the Failure to Launch message. I was able to install it via Toomkygames. I only remember having this problem one other time with GGOTD.

This game is available at MyPlayCity and MyRealGames as well as Toomkygames.
Personally, since I can avoid the browser opening garbage with MyPlayCity and ToomkyGames easily and often even with MyRealGames, I will go that route for installations. Even with the cleanup (MyPlaycity can have 16 or 17 files + 1 folder removed for EVERY game installed -- about 5 MB) and the occasional forced browser opening, this method is more "portable". You're not restricted to one day and you don't lose it if you re-format or upgrade your computer!
That is -- if you make a backup of the install program (tricky to get with MyPlayCity and it's stub), you have this ability. There are times that a game get's lost at a site so I do recommend saving a copy of the install program.

I've seen it reported in the comments on the GOTD download pages by one or a few people, but very occasionally. I've had it happen once in my XP Mode VM, but that day I didn't have the time to pursue it, seeing if it would work elsewhere etc. Unfortunately when it's been reported usually few details are included, so you can't look for patterns, for example it's clear that some Kaspersky installations can cause problems, because so many people have reported problems & said that they were running Kaspersky.
Security software is updated constantly so it can detect & block the latest examples of mal-ware -- the people behind security software are constantly looking for new threats, & releasing updates sometimes several times a day. It could be that the last security software update before you tried the GOTD game caused the problem, & since then newer updates have fixed it, but that's just one possibility.
If it happens again & it's not something you can easily get somewhere else, you might try booting into Safe Mode with networking. That usually stops security software along with any other apps or processes that might conflict or interfere.
