   Hmmm, there's a worrying trend of quite lage game development studios being bought out by larger conglomerates (eg Reflexive was bought out by Amazon).

   Gaming is big buisness, but won't cutting down studio numbers eventually limit the wide range of games that we see being developed now. I hope not.

   I do hope changing ownership will allow more games to be given away. There's has been a cyclic release of around 25 games since Sandlot games started the weekly giveaway.

   So EA has PopCap, Amazon got Reflexive, and now Digital Chocolate bought Sandlot. If this trend continues I foresee Electronic Amazon Chocolate releasing casual game Zuma Jewels vs Deluxe Farm Zombies.

   Digital Chocolate's bigshot ceo has stepped down and the word on the street is that nearly two thirds of the company's worldwide employees have been laid off and that the Sandlot offices have been completely shut down.
